Undeniably beautiful and sitting just off what many would call the beaten track in Bali, Medewi offers a rare glimpse at what island life was like before the tourism boom.

The surf village is incredibly relaxed and safe and offers everything tourists could wish for in a laid-back coastal retreat.

There is accommodation to suit every budget and travel style, from luxury boutique resorts to quaint backpacker hangouts, private villas, and locally run guesthouses.

The hotel sits right on the beachfront, offering uninterrupted and unrivaled views of the iconic surf breaks of Medewi.

The quaint wooden cottages are built in traditional Balinese style, and guests are invited to join daily yoga classes or book in for a rejuvenating spa treatment.

While Kuta Beach may be the most famous place in Bali to learn to surf, Medewi Beach and the surrounding villages are home to a series of incredible surf schools that offer learners the chance to get to grips with life on the waves away from the busy crowds of Kuta.

Perfect now Medewi will end up like Canggu. Why can’t people just be quiet and let those who want to explore find places like this for themselves!
