An Update On The Future Of The Bali Sun

Share The Article

We have been getting a lot of emails lately asking where the daily news updates are, so we want to give you a quick, completely transparent update on the future of the site.

Over the last six years, our team has published over 5,000 articles covering every single aspect of Bali. We have reported on breaking local news, critical travel updates, and massive changes across the island to keep you completely informed before and during your trips. It has been an incredible run.

However, the digital publishing landscape has drastically shifted recently. The way search engines distribute daily news has fundamentally changed, making it incredibly difficult to sustain a high-volume, daily reporting model.

The Bali Sun Sunset

Because of this, we have made the decision to step back from the daily news cycle. We are officially transitioning The Bali Sun into a permanent, static travel archive.

Here is exactly what that means moving forward:

  • The Site Stays Live: We are not deleting the website. The entire library of 5,600 articles will remain completely accessible online.
  • No New Daily Updates: We will no longer be publishing daily breaking news or routine travel updates.
  • A Lasting Resource: The site will now serve as a permanent historical archive and a deep reference guide for anyone researching the island’s evolution over the last six years.

We want to say a massive thank you to every single reader who made this project such a success. Whether you read our updates every morning or just used us to plan your annual vacation, your support and readership meant absolutely everything to our team.

Keep exploring, and enjoy the archive.
