Bali’s Kuta Beach Is Seeing A Resurgence In Popularity

Bali’s classic beach resort destination of Kuta is experiencing a resurgence in popularity. Over the last week, Kuta Beach has seen a growing number of tourists visit to relax and unwind in the sun. 

Officials from the Kuta Beach Task Force have shared their observations of tourism in Kuta with reporters. I Made Oka explained, “visits to Kuta Beach, it is starting to boom. It’s been three days quite crowded at Kuta Beach.”

He noted that the majority of tourists had been domestic tourists but shared that with the high season on the way, many more international travelers will be heading to Kuta Beach soon. 

Oka shared that in light of the increasing number of tourists in the area, the Kuta Beach Task Force is out and about on patrol to ensure that tourists feel safe and supported.

Oka added, “Although the dominance of [domestic tourists], there are also many foreign tourists who visit. Of course, we will continue to monitor to anticipate unwanted things.”

He confirmed that there are now officers who patrol the Kuta Beach area to ensure public safety. 

Patrols now operate 24 hours a day and will continue throughout the high season, giving tourists from all over Indonesia and the world a chance to experience the best that Kuta has to offer.

For many tourists and tourism stakeholders in Bali, the news that Kuta’s resurgence has begun is promising news.

Kuta Beach has been the island’s biggest tourism resort for decades but has been slower to recover from the pandemic than other newer tourism developments like Canggu and Uluwatu.

Construction teams have assured tourists that their peace and quiet will not be disturbed while construction is underway and that access to the beach will be preserved. 

In addition to huge investment into the beach wall and consideration against beach erosion, public funds have helped create new facilities in Kuta for all to enjoy.

In the last few months, Kuta Beach has welcomed the arrival of a new playground for children, new outdoor gym equipment for everyone to use, and an incredible new skatepark that is open for locals and tourists alike.

Community leaders in Kuta are increasingly keen to ensure that the resort town remains relevant and inviting for tourists. The 24-hour patrols of the beach area ensure that tourists feel safe day and night, whether sunbathing on the shoreline or walking back to their hotel after a big night out.
