Tourists in Bali have to take advantage of the opportunity to cash in on massive discounts this festive season.

Bali’s most popular shopping malls are pulling out all the stops to ensure that shoppers get great deals and are seriously entertained during the Christmas and New Year period.

Beachwalk Shopping Center in Kuta will host its 13th year-end celebration, which will carry over into the New Year.

Speaking to reporters, Beachwalk Shopping Center General Manager Gita Sunarwulan said this 13th year marks a moment of momentum for Beachwalk as it continues to adapt to the increasingly diverse nature of visitors, especially during the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

Sunarwulan told reporters, “We consider this age to be a dynamic and exploratory phase. Therefore, the atmosphere and activities presented are directed to make visitors feel comfortable lingering.”

The event, aptly named ‘Shopping 13’, will see almost all shops within Beachwalk Shopping Mall create promotional offers and mega discounts. The shopping mall itself will host a huge range of entertainment events for all the family, and there will be some incredible prizes to win too.

According to Sunarwulan, December is always the busiest month for visitors at Beachwalk Shopping Mall. She explained, “During the December high season, daily visits are projected to reach 40,000 to 50,000 people. However, what we are pushing more is improving the quality of shopping.”

BCA Bank is also supporting the mega shopping event. The Assistant Vice President of Marketing for KFPT Bali, Banking Transaction Cooperation Solution Development Division, BCA Bank, Celya Putri Sunjaya, told reporters that transaction rates increased by 30% in December. Sunjaya shared, “Looking at the visit trend this year, we are optimistic that transaction growth can exceed last year’s achievement.”

The Beachwalk Shopping Center’s Campaign and Experience Manager, Reksa Hartoyo, told reporters that a series of special events will be held throughout late December and early January to celebrate the 13th anniversary of Beachwalk Shopping Center, Christmas, and the New Year.

He noted,  “This entire series is aimed at enriching visitors’ experiences during the year-end holidays, while also supporting tourism and the economy in the Kuta area.”

It is not only the Beachwalk Shopping Mall where tourists can find fantastic deals this Christmas and New Year. This is a nationwide holiday, and shopping malls across Bali and Indonesia’s biggest cities will be taking part in a campaign promoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism.

Speaking to the media in late November, Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana explained how she wanted to promote retail tourism to both domestic and international tourists. Bali will welcome more than 5 million tourists over the festive season, a huge percentage of whom are domestic tourists.

Minister Wardhana told reporters, “We must promote this shopping tourism to neighbouring countries, to ASEAN and to other countries as well.”

The Ministry of Tourism has launched a campaign called “Time For A Holiday #InIndonesiaAja. Minister Wardhana explained, “We are optimistic that [this] program will further encourage domestic tourism and increase spending by international tourists.”

Tourists in Bali over the festive season will also see campaigns for a nationwide shopping promotion called the Indonesia Great Sale 2025, which will be launched across major shopping malls and outlets nationwide, including in Bali, on the 19th December.

Minister Wardhana explained, “We are confident that the Indonesia Great Sale 2025 can be a catalyst for strengthening the tourism ecosystem, providing broad benefits for both large and small businesses.”

Tourists drawing up their lists of must-shop destinations should make sure that Beachwalk Shopping Mall in Kuta is added to the list, alongside ICON Bali Mall in Sanur, Mal Galeria Bali is not to be missed, nor is Living World in Central Denpasar.

"Top Malls Promise Mega Discounts For Tourists."

My experience is that Indonesia offer "mega discounts" whatsover. Electronics/gadgets are easily discounted 50% after a couple of years in western countries. That will never happen in Indonesia. Similar with luxury goods and clothing that is cheaper overseas.
