Man Rescued At Sanur Beach In Bali

A 34-year-old man with initials (KS) from Karangasem has been rescued by Bali authorities after attempting to end his life on Sanur Beach.

An authority from the Denpasar Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) confirmed that KS attempted to end his life by consuming a chemical liquid and then plunged himself into the sea on Sanur Beach in South Denpasar on Monday evening (10/5) around 11:00pm. Luckily, KS was rescued shortly after.

The official from BPBD immediately came to the location after receiving reports regarding the incident that evening. “Thankfully, we managed to rescue him from the sea before it was too late. We rushed him to the shore and gave him first aid before transporting him to the hospital.” said the official.

“According to information from the witness, the victim allegedly consumed hazardous liquids prior to the incident, and then he plunged himself into the sea in attempt of suicide.” the official added. The victim was rushed to Sanglah Public Hospital by an ambulance from the Indonesian Red Cross Organization (PMI) to get medical attention. The officers decided to postpone their investigation as they are waiting for KS to regain consciousness.
