TransNusa Airlines has officially launched its new Denpasar-Guangzhou flight route.

The service is part of a wider route that connects travelers between Guangzhou and Perth, initiating Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport as a transit hub in addition to its role as the gateway to the Island of the Gods.

Speaking to reporters following the inaugural Guangzhou-Denpasar flight on Monday 14th April, the President Director of TransNusa, “This route is also designed to facilitate domestic and international tourists, especially from Perth, Australia, who want to continue their journey to Guangzhou, and vice versa.”

He added, “In addition, this route is also expected to increase the number of foreign tourist visits to Bali, considering that Denpasar is a strategic transit point for international travel.” Flight tickets for the Guangzhou-Denpasar leg of the TransNusa route start at IDR 2,388,000 and include 15kg of luggage.

The Guangzhou-Denpasar service will operate four times weekly until 31st May’ departing on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On 1st June 2025, the service will increase its frequency to operate daily.

The Guangzhou-Denpasar route departs from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 2.05 am local time and arrives at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at 7.40 am local time. The outbound service departs from I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport at 8.15 pm local time and arrives at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 01.00 am local time.

Speaking last month the TransNusa Group Chief Executive Officer and aviation veteran, Datuk Bernard Francis shared, “We are always looking at developing new routes to benefit our passengers.”

“While traditional routes such as Bali to Perth and Bali to Guangzhou are important, we also strive to go the extra mile to provide fast as well as seamless connectivity to our passengers.”

He spoke of how the Bali connection between China and Australia will be as seamless as possible for passengers, whether they choose to transit directly through the airport or schedule a visit to Bali before traveling onward.

Francis explained, “With the launch of our new Bali-Guangzhou route, our passengers can now enjoy one of the fastest scheduled connecting flights to either Guangzhou or Perth via Bali, with a transit duration of either 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours and 35 minutes, depending on the day and time of the scheduled flights.”

Flight connections between Australia and Bali are only increasing at the moment. As Australian tourists remain the most frequent international arrivals to Bali, airlines and the tourism sector more broadly are on a mission to strengthen connections and improve both affordability and accessibility.

Bali is not only focused on strengthening ties with Australia when it comes to tourism but destinations further afield too.

Earlier this month Bali Governor Wayan Koster was joined by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other representatives to celebrate the launch of a new direct flight service between Jeddah-Denpasar.

The service is the third flight route to be operated by the Saudi Arabian national airline Saudia to Indonesia, following Jakarta and Medan. The service will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Governor Koster formally welcomed the new flight service to the province and called once again for all tourists to honor and respect local laws and customs during their vacations to help sustain peace and harmony for all.

He told reporters, “We hope that tourists from all countries who visit Bali, including Saudi Arabia, will follow the rules and policies implemented by the Indonesian government and also the Bali Provincial Government.
