Bali is welcoming the launch of a new flight service that will connect the province with Saudi Arabia. The new Jeddha-Denpasar flight route will operate three times weekly, and operate through Singapore.
The service will be operated by Saudi Arabia’s national airline, Saudia.

During the press conference launch of the new flight service, Bali Governor Wayan Koster was joined by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, HE Mr Faisal Bin Abdullah Al-Amudi, and the Saudia Country Manager for Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand, Mr Faisal Alallah.
The launch of the new Jeddah-Denpasar flight service is Saudia’s third route to Indonesia, alongside Jakarta and Medan.
Alallah told reporters, “The route to Bali is in line with the airline’s strategic vision to enhance its competitive advantage and expand its global footprint. It also underlines the airline’s commitment to expanding its network.”
The service will be operated on a Boeing B787-900 Dreamliner, which offers 274 economy seats and 24 business class seats. The service will operate ever Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and is already in operation with flight tickets widely available.
Governor Koster welcomed the launch of the new flight service to Jeddah and told reporters, “We hope that tourists from all countries who visit Bali including Saudi Arabia, will follow the rules and policies implemented by the Indonesian government and also the Bali Provincial Government.”
He added “Starting this year, we will carry out a number of regulations and policies related to the comprehensive management of Bali tourism. So that Bali tourism really grows well, healthy based on culture and quality.”
Governor Koster shared his hopes that the launch of the new Bali-Jeddah route will continue to be successful and expressed his gratitude to the government of Saudi Arabia.
He shared “Success for the Saudi Arabian government, thank you for this first flight. Hopefully it will be a positive value for Indonesia and Bali.”
He noted that in 2024, 14,000 Saudi tourists visited Bali’ in 2025 Bali is on a mission to welcome at least 6.5 million international arrivals.
During his speech at the flight’s inauguration ceremony, Governor Koster took the opportunity to reiterate his calls for tourists to priories cultural respect during their visits to the province.
He stated, “We apply the policy for foreign tourists based on Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2023, which is a follow-up to Law Number 15 of 2023 regarding Bali Province.”
Adding, “The image of Bali and Indonesia tourism remains positive. With these steps, we are optimistic that Bali tourism will continue to develop well.”

The new route between Jeddah and Bali is not the only new international flight service to be launched at I Gusti Ngurah Rai this month.
Thai Lion Air has officially opened a direct flight route from Bali (DPS) to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok (DMK).
The service technically launched on 30th March 2025, but form 10th April the flight will be available as a daily service offering up to 215 economy seats per flight.

Speaking to reporters the Head of Strategic Corporate Communications, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, shared “It provides more travel options for tourists and business people.”
Adding “The opening of the route is a strategic step by Thai Lion Air in supporting tourism growth and strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Thailand. Tourists from both countries can enjoy easier, faster, and more efficient travel, while also encouraging an increase in the number of tourist visits to each destination.”

Last month, Bali Airport also celebrated the announcement of the launch of a new direct flight route connecting tourists and business travelers with another of Southeast Asia’s hottest travel destinations.
Vietnam Airlines is set to launch a new round-trip service between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali’s Denpasar from 1st June 2025.
