The Klungkung region has been confirmed as the only green zone in Bali after recording zero Covid-19 transmission in the last several weeks.

The Head of the Klungkung Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Nyoman Suwirta, confirmed that the Klungkung region has turned into a green zone area after recording zero Covid-19 cases since the beginning of December 2021.

He stated that this would be a sign for the government to start focusing on taking tangible steps towards the post-pandemic economic recovery.

This qualification was determined by measuring several indicators, including daily active cases, epidemiologists of the region, public health surveillance, public health services, and the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients.

Still, this accomplishment comes with the reminder that all people should keep complying with Covid-19 protocols to avoid another surge in Covid-19 transmission, especially with the Omicron variant.

Although Klungkung was confirmed as a green zone area, Suwirta announced that he would continue all the governmental Covid-19 programs in the region.

“We will continue all the Covid-19 handling programs, such as the vaccination program for elementary school students and the vaccine booster program for the senior citizens. We will also regularly inspect public areas for the implementation of prevention protocols,” Suwirta concluded.

Until few days ago Kiribati didn’t have even one Covid case, until first airplane arrived with tested passengers, now they have at least 39 Covid cases.

@Wayan Bo, Just curious, do you have the case count on all the other infectious diseases or just covid.

Why are you so afraid of Covid and not any other diseases? The death rate from Covid is less than 1% and if you believe in the vaccinations then 0% if you are otherwise healthy.
