Expat Arrested For Narcotics And Firearm Possession Will Face 20 Years Imprisonment

A 30-year-old man named Rayan Jawad Henri Bitar from France who has been arrested for possession of narcotics and firearms in Bali will face 20 years of imprisonment.

As The Bali Sun previously reported Rayan was arrested by police officers on Monday (21/12) from Kharisma Villa that is located on Jalan Umalas Klecung Kerobokan, North Kuta. An investigation about the suspect began after police officers received a report about drug trafficking in the Badung area, and his name showed up as one of the suspects.

The Prosecutor, I Gede Novyartha said that apart from the narcotics, the officers also found several illegal firearms and ammunition inside his villa. “The suspect admitted that he bought a package of crystal meth from a man named Mang Adi through whatsapp chat, but apart from that the officers also found four illegal firearms and ammunition.” Novyartha said during the trial on Tuesday (4/5).

The officers seized several types of firearms such as a Blade Pistol Stabilizer, an MU1-TJ, 7.65 caliber gun, a revolver along with 29 bullets. But the suspect explained to authorities that those firearms were only for collection. “The suspect was sentenced for violating several different constitutions, and he will face a 20 years of imprisonment at Bali prison.” Novyartha concluded. Both the suspect and his lawyer seemed to accept the Judges’ decision as they didn’t ask for any exception to their decision.
