Here at The Bali Sun, if you asked us where we would stay for a luxury beachside vacation in Bali, before you’d even finished your sentence, we would say Nusa Dua.
This is Bali’s most luxurious resort area and is home to some of the most high-end hotels on the island, and has just welcomed the return of one beloved 5-star hotel with a brand new look.

The Nusa Dua has just celebrated the grand opening of Paradisus by Meliá Bali. The hotel, a reimagining of the Meliá Bali, operated by PT Surya Semesta Internusa Tbk (SSIA), is strengthening its expansion in Bali’s luxury hospitality space.
Speaking to reporters at the grand opening, SSIA President Director Johannes Suriadjaja said the transformation of Meliá Bali into Paradisus Bali has been a strategic step by the company to strengthen Indonesia’s tourism sector.
Suriadjaja told reporters, “The transformation of Meliá Bali Hotel into Paradisus Bali is a strategic step for SSIA in building a stronger Indonesian tourism sector. This initiative is not only expected to attract tourists from various countries but also to serve as a platform for exchanging knowledge on service excellence, which will enrich the Indonesian hospitality industry.”
Paradisus Bali General Manager, Eduardo Castro Perera, said the resort’s transformation has been inspired by the positive performance of the Meliá Bali for nearly four decades of operation in Bali.
He shared, “This transformation is the result of Meliá Bali Hotel’s solid performance over the past 40 years, with an average occupancy rate of 80 percent prior to the renovation. With a renewed spirit of service, Paradisus Bali is ready to provide the best and most unforgettable stay experience for guests in Bali.”
Paradisus by Meliá Bali is an all-inclusive resort that has been created to integrate cultural experiences, culinary, fitness, relaxation, and exploration of local Balinese culture into one luxury vacation service package.
Everything that is on offer at the hotel has been meticulously curated to ensure a smooth and memorable stay for all guests, including an exclusive adult-only area known as The Reserve, as well as Family Concierge services, restaurants and bars, wellness facilities, and Balinese cultural activity programs.
Paradisus by Melia Bali is described as “a unique sanctuary of exotic beauty and tropical comfort. The 492 elegant accommodations include suites and villas with highlights of indigenous teakwood and jewel-toned furnishing accents. Superb dining is available in the relaxed tropical ambiance of the resort’s eight restaurants.”

The hotel is committed to preserving Balinese culture and engaging in sustainability practices, which Bali is in all too urgent need of, with trash and traffic issues hitting headlines once again.
The hotel explains, “Paradisus by Melia Bali has conducted its Sustainability concept based on the MHI (Melia Hotels International) Global Policy and the Tri Hita Karana concept, the Balinese way of living, which highlights the harmonious relationships between human beings and God (Parhyangan), human beings and fellow human beings (Pawongan), as well as human beings and the environment (Palemahan).”

It is not only Paradisus by Melia Bali that has received a major upgrade and is starting a whole new chapter, but the wider IDTC Nusa Dua resort area too.
Tourists heading over to The Nusa Dua’s Peninsula Island and Water Blow in the coming weeks will catch sight of the next phase of the rejuvenation work that started last month.

Speaking to reporters, Nusa Dua General Manager, I Made Agus Dwiatmika, shared, “The rejuvenation of the Peninsula Island area is not only intended to enhance the area’s aesthetics, but also to ensure infrastructure and public facilities are more responsive to the needs of international events and quality tourism.”
Adding, this effort also strengthens The Nusa Dua’s position as a world-class tourism destination that prioritizes quality, sustainability, and a superior travel experience.”
