Here at The Bali Sun, we know that this island is a winner across all fronts. From incredible scenery to world-class hotels, from exceptional restaurants to totally unique cultural landmarks, Bali really does have it all.
Which is why it is so exciting to see the island and its tourism offering win big at the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards 2026.

As we reported on earlier this year here at The Bali Sun, Bali has been named the TripAdvisor Best Destination of the Year in 2026. This tiny island beat the likes of London, Dubai, and Paris to the top spot.
The latest round of winners has been announced for the TripAdvisor Travelers’ Choice Awards 2026, and of course, Bali has one big winner again. In fact, it’s been a bumper year for Indonesia overall, with destinations named as winners nationwide.
Out of more than 8 million places to visit around the world, fewer than 1% that are awarded a TripAdvisor Best of the Best Award. This prestigious accolade is earned by accruing top reviews from real travellers, and with more than 7 million international visitors exploring Bali in the last year, there are plenty of reviews to be called upon for these awards.
As we’ve already confirmed, Indonesia’s first big win at the TripAdvisor awards in 2026 is Bali being named the Best of the Best destination. TripAdvisor shares of Bali: “Bali packs a lot into one small island— from breathtaking waterfalls like Sekumpul in the north to the white sand beaches of Nyang Nyang in the south.”
Adding “Whatever you’re seeking, you’ll probably find: surfable waves in Batu Bolong, all-night clubs in Seminyak, luxury clifftop hotels in Nusa Dua, and spiritual refuges all around.
Snap a pic at the Gateway to Heaven, cut through the jungle to the hidden Gunung Kawi Temple, and catch the sunset and a traditional fire dance at Uluwatu Temple.”
Here at The Bali Sun, we’d hasten to add that these few attractions are really just the start, with so much to see, do, and encounter, it is easy to see why Bali has tourists returning time and time again.
Bali’s next wins at the Best of the Best Awards are for Nusa Penida. The dreamiest destination of all! Nusa Penida’s Kelingking Beach landed a deserved second place on the Best of the Best Beaches in Asia category, narrowly missing out on the very top spot to Thailand’s Banana Beach.
That being said, Kelingking Beach can still very much boast of being in the top 1%. As can the Nusa Penida Premium Tour, which jumped in at a respectable 20th place on the Best of the Best Things to Do in the World.

Nusa Penida may be a tiny island, but it certainly packs a punch and does a lot of the heavy lifting for Indonesia’s public image for tourism, right?!
Moving on to dining, and of the Best of the Best Things to Do, Dava Steak and Seafood Restaurant in Jimbaran has also been named amongst the top 1% of eateries in Asia. Jimbaran is famous for its beachfront seafood restaurants, and Dava is rightly amongst the best of them.
Anyone who is seeking authentic Balinese flavors and the freshest of fresh seafood has to add an evening in Jimbaran to the travel itinerary.

Here’s a little word from the wise (if we do say so ourselves) Jimbaran is a massively overlooked vacation destination.
We find lots of holidaymakers look to find good deals in Kuta, or head down to Uluwatu to visit the most trending hotspots. Since Jimbaran sits right between the two, it offers the best of both worlds…and no crowds!

It was not only Bali that won big at the TripAdvisor Awards representing Indonesia. Bandung’s G.H Universal Hotel was named in the Best of the Best Hotels and has been added to our ‘must visit’ list here at The Bali Sun. It’s Indonesia’s only luxury pet hotel…so cool!
