Tourists visiting Bali this July must remember to pack their running shoes! The annual Culture Run Bali is returning in 2026 and will be hosted in none other than the Peninsula Island.

The event will bring together local runners and fitness-focused tourists for a celebration of culture, environmental awareness, and sport.

Indonesia is on a mission to promote culture and the environment within the tourism sector. As a diverse archipelago nation, Indonesia has so much culture to explore and almost too many natural wonders to count. The Culture Run Bali is an event designed to bring the community together to create cultural cohesion in a beautiful destination.

The team has confirmed that Culture Run Bali 2026 will be hosted on the stunning Peninsula Island in Nusa Dua, on the 26th July 2026. Registration will open soon, but with the 2025 event a resounding success, this year’s race is guaranteed to be a memorable one.

The Culture Run Bali team is really teasing us, only offering up tiny glimmers of details right now, and the anticipation is building.

Culture Run Bali has shared “Not just about pace. Not just about distance. This is where energy meets connection. Where every step brings people, stories, and moments together. Get ready for something bigger than just a run. This is your journey.”

The event, which offers a 5km, 10km, and a half-marathon, is a joyous affair. In 2026, thousands of participants joined the run down on the Bukit Peninsula, at the iconic Pandawa Beach. By bringing the event to Peninsula Island in Nusa Dua, the organisers are bringing a sprinkle of luxury to the event, which will surely call in a new wave of participants.

For runners and fitness enthusiasts set to be in Bali this July, the Culture Run Bali is an unmissable event. The run is popular with Bali’s local running groups and sees a huge number of people travel from around the country to take part.

The running scene in Indonesia is going from strength to strength, and there are hopes that sports tourism will continue to grow in existing travel hotspots like Bali. For tourists looking to make new friends in Bali, this is the perfect event for you.

Tourists in Bali can expect to see more of these kinds of event hosts throughout the year and across the province’s top tourism destinations.

Only last week, the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, and  Chairman of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali, Putu Winastra, confirmed that they are launching a fun run event series called ‘Road To 100 Years of Bali Tourism’.

The first event will be held at the UNESCO World Heritage Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Tabanan Regency and is expected to be attended by more than 20,000 participants. Koster and Winastra spoke to reporters about the event series but noted that more details regarding dates and registration would be revealed soon but the first event will be held in June 2026.

The ‘Road To 100 Years of Bali Tourism’ events will offer 5km and 10km options through some of Bali’s most impressive landscapes and around the island’s most famous landmarks.

While these events are well worth organizing a vacation itinerary around, for those tourists not set to be in Bali on those dates, there are still plenty of ways to get involved with the island’s ever-growing running scene.

Run clubs have proven to be one of the most effective ways of bringing Bali’s local communities and international communities together.

Run clubs have become so popular that in fitness hotspots like Canggu, whole businesses have been designed around them. The newly opened Runamuk Bali in Pererenan is a cafe, community space, and fitness recovery center focused on its free-to-join running club.
