Tripadvisor has announced that Bali has won the Top Traveler’s Choice Destination In Asia and is ranked number 4 in the world. Tripadvisor made the announcement after comparing the reviews from the 25 most rated tourists destination in 2019.
Tripadvisor Brand Ambassador Vice President, Neela Pal said that the list was compiled to help travelers choose their holiday destination. “The excitement of knowing how much people love a certain destination before even arriving makes it that much more exciting.”
Indonesia Tourism Minister, Wishnutama said he was feeling grateful after the announcement. He believes that The Island of God’s got lots of unique things to offer including a tropical landscape and amazing culture. “I hope this will help Bali to thrive again in our near future”, Wishnutama added.
Bali received a record breaking 6.2 million international visitors in 2019 with Australians being the largest market of over 1.23 million visitors.
Prior to the pandemic Bali was on pace for another record year and growth in tourism before the island closed its borders due to COVID-19.
Bali was planned originally to reopen for international tourists in September but after a surge in cases, the Indonesian government decided to keep the borders closed until at least the end of 2020.
