A 46-year-old police officer with initials NM has been arrested on Jalan Gatsu Barat, Denpasar for alleged drug trafficking in Bali.
The Head of the Badung Police Department, AKBP Roby Septiadi confirmed that an active police officer who has been serving on Sabara Patrol at Mengwi Police Department was arrested during his attempt to make drug transactions in Denpasar. “The suspect has been deactivated from his duty and will soon be expelled from the Police Department.” AKBP Roby said on Monday (31/5).
“He has violated not only our constitution but also humiliated the police department, and we have zero tolerance for matters like this. So other than the penalty from his criminal activity, I will assure that he’ll be expelled from the police department.” AKBP Roby added. NM was arrested without resistance on Saturday (8/5) around 1:00pm in front of a mosque in Denpasar. The suspect was arrested along with several packages of crystal meth that he was carrying. When the police officers continued their investigation at his house that is located on Perum Cempaka Cluster Residence, Marga Tabanan, they found more packages of meth with a total weight of 84 gram along with some paraphernalia that he had been using to consume the drug.
Meanwhile the Head of the Bali Police Department, Irjen Pol Putu Jayan Danu Putra stated that he will assure that the suspect will be sanctioned in accordance with the Indonesian constitutions. “I will assure that an investigation regarding this case that is still underway will be transparent and run in accordance with the Indonesian constitutions.” Irjen Pol Putu concluded.
