Bali Vice Governor, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati (Cok Ace) confirmed that as a response to the latest statement from the central government about the reopening plan on October 2021, Bali provincial government has begun their preparation stages, including choosing several countries that will be welcomed to visit the island once the border reopens in the near future.

“We have selected multiple countries such as Russia, America, Germany and England to start implementing the travel bubble program based on their length of stay in Bali. And visitors from those countries usually spend around 2 weeks on the island.” Cok Ace said on Monday (27/9).

He explained that this selection was based on the regulation from the central government, to anticipate Covid-19 transmissions from other countries that are still unable to handle the pandemic properly. Cok Ace also claimed that Bali is now ready to receive international visitors as the majority of Bali’s population have already been vaccinated. “According to the recent data, around 97% of Bali residents have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and 75% of people have completed the second dose. The vaccination program is expected to finish in the beginning of October.” Cok Ace added.

Apart from that Bali has also prepared 62 hospitals to receive Covid-19 patients, and 25 laboratories to conduct PCR tests with the ability to test around 4,000 people each day.  Meanwhile the provincial government has prepared 3 different schemes that might be implemented based on the situation such as :
– allowing tourist to access all the areas on the island if Covid-19 transmission is properly handled
– allowing tourist to access the appointed green zone areas if Covid-19 cases begin to surge
– Reducing the mobility of the tourist inside green zone areas if Covid-19 cases keep on surging

Before reopening our border, we also need to prepare for the worst scenario to prevent Covid-19 transmissions to surge like in Singapore.” Cok Ace concluded.

Who is going to sit on a plane for 30 hours only to spend a WHOLE week in quarantine? I’ve had 2 vaccinations now Even I’m not prepared to do that – at HUGE expense. Ridiculous,,,,,,

Wake up Bali. Who is going to sit on a plane for 24+ hours only to spend a WHOLE week in quarantine? I've had 3 vaccinations now and PCR test every week and 2 x LFT every week. Besides from the UK at the moment you are still red listed which would mean another 10 days quarantine at this end on return. Even I'm not prepared to do that - at HUGE expense.

@Linda Hewett, the Indian travelers on the UK red list and complaining as well... It's all discriminatory all around. Well UK after Brexit some months later...shortage of employment, empty shelves at grocery stores, gas shortage at pump stations will lead to violence. Well you reap what you sow.

But will the people arriving have to quarantine or not also what provision is in place for them to go shopping as no one will have a nic number to enter the malls.

@Paul Speirs, it did not stop expats for entering a mall to shop in Jakarta. Passport numbers can work the same as having a NIK.
