Couple Arrested For Stealing Motorbikes In Bali

A couple, identified as IA (aged 25) and NB (aged 29), have been arrested for motorbike theft in Bali.

The Head of the Baturiti Police Department, Kompol IB Putu Mertayasa, confirmed that both suspects were arrested after months of investigation.

“After receiving a report from one of the victims, the police finally arrested the couple. They stole motorbikes in at least five different locations in Bali,” Kompol Mertayasa said on Thursday (24/2).

An officer from the Baturiti police department first received a report from a victim named Ketut Gunarsa, whose motorbike was stolen after he parked his vehicle in front of a local shop in Baturiti, Tabanan on November 16^th 2021.

“The vehicle was already gone a few minutes after he parked his motorbike in front of the shop,” Kompol Mertayasa added.

After collecting the video footage from surrounding CCTV cameras, the officers managed to identify and arrest the suspects.

“The suspects had been constantly moving so it was difficult to track them down, but we finally managed to locate them in Jalan Pratama, Nusa Dua on Friday (11/2) at 1:00 pm,” Kompol Martayasa concluded.
