Woman Loses Arm From Road Accident In Bali

A 48-year-old woman has suffered a serious injury to her right arm from a road accident that occurred on Jalan Denpasar – Gilimanuk, Kerambitan Tabanan.

The Head of  Tabanan Public Relations Police Officer, Iptu I Nyoman Subagia said he was thankful that the victim didn’t lose her life despite the serious injury that she suffered from the incident that occurred on Thursday morning (27/5). “She lost her right arm after being crushed by the heavy truck on Thursday morning around 8:45am.” Iptu Subagia said.

Prior to the incident, the woman who has been living in Peguyangan Kangin, Denpasar was riding her motorbike from the west side of the road. At the same time there was a large truck that was driven by a 48-year-old man named Bagus Putu Siwa who went in the same direction in front of her. When she attempted to overtake the vehicle in front of her from the left side of the truck, the victim decided to hit the brake as she noticed that the road was getting smaller.

Unfortunately, the front tire of her motorbike slipped, causing her to crash and get run over by the rear tire of the truck. “Her right arm got run over by the truck, but luckily she survived.” Iptu Subagia added. The victim was rushed to Tabanan Hospital by ambulance to receive medical attention. Iptu Subagia also reminds the people to avoid overtaking other vehicles to prevent any potential accidents.
