A video of a foreign national who was picking through garbage to find food has recently gone viral on social media.
The video that was uploaded on Wednesday (7/4) has attracted many responses from people who feel really sorry to see what the expat was doing to find some food. According to the video, the man was trying to find some food from the offerings that were left by the local community for a religious ceremony. The video was allegedly taken around Kuta area.
Meanwhile The Head of Badung Public Civil Service Officer, I Gusti Agung Ketut Suryanegara said that he hasn’t found the foreign national who was scavenging in his area. “I’ve already heard the information, so I deployed some officers to find that man. I think he was the same man who was previously spotted begging in the Pecatu area a couple of weeks ago.” Suryanegara said on Wednesday (7/4).
In similar news, on Tuesday (30/3) a Russian national was detained by a police officer after getting caught begging in the Pecatu area. During the interrogation, the man admitted that he was running out of cash in order to survive while staying in Bali. But the police officer decided to let him go after giving him a warning. Suryanegara explained that the man could have been deported for what he was doing. “The officer should’ve detained him so we could cooperate with the Immigration Office to potentially start the deportation process.” Suryanegara concluded.
