Ubud Food Festival is returning to Bali from 30th May to 1st June 2025. The annual festival is Bali’s most beloved food event and sees chefs, growers, artists, and cultural leaders come together in the island’s arts and culture capital to celebrate Indonesian food culture, global epicurean trends, and our shared relationship with the lands that produce our food.

Every year, the Ubud Food Festival is oriented around a specific theme. Since 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the globally acclaimed event, the theme has been announced as ‘Exploring Heritage’.

The festival’s Founder and Director, Janet DeNeefe, shared in a press statement, “In our 10th year, we honor Indonesia’s rich culinary traditions, celebrating the flavors, techniques, and stories passed down through generations. Over three days, foodies can discover lesser-known regional specialties and enjoy recipes that have shaped our diverse food culture.”

The festival has launched its official artwork, an element that has become as anticipated as the lineup of presenters and speakers itself. This year, Balinese Gusde Sidhi created the official festival artwork.

The artwork has been designed to honor Indonesia’s culinary landscape through cultural symbolism, drawing inspiration from traditional aesthetics.

True to Sidhi’s unique talents the artwork features rich motifs and detailed illustrations, as a vision, the piece celebrates the beauty of Indonesia’s most beloved dishes and the deep-rooted connection between food, tradition, and community.

DeNeefe shared, “Much like a vintage poster, it tells a story—one of flavors and the enduring legacy of food as a cultural identity. At its center stands a strong female figure, embodying the vital role of women in preserving and passing down culinary traditions, surrounded by iconic Indonesian dishes that celebrate generations of cherished flavors.”

“This connection between food and heritage is at the heart of our 2025 Festival, and we can’t wait to welcome you to embark on a journey with us to explore the rich history behind every bite.”

One of the most impressive aspects of the Ubud Food Festival is its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

While there are a whole host of ticketed masterclasses and special events for foodies to enjoy, everyone is welcome to explore the free Ubud Food Festival Food Market, which will be hosted at Taman Culinar over the duration of the festival.

Sessions held at the Food for Thought stage will be a festival highlight. They will bring together consumers and producers to share stories, network, and collaborate in shaping a vibrant and sustainable culinary future.

Sessions scheduled at the Food for Thought stage will include outstanding local changemakers, environmental heroes, hard-working farmers, and pioneering organizations. This platform brings together the region’s movers and shakers to tackle big issues and new ideas.
