The Head of the Public Relations Office for the Bali Police Department, Kombespol Syamsi, confirmed that two of his personnel were arrested after illegally publishing an explicit video that became viral on social media.

“Instead of informing the patrolling officers about the video so they can begin an investigation, the suspects decided to publish the video on the internet,” Kombespol Syamsi said.

The incident occurred when the suspects spotted a couple doing an explicit activity at the Renon Public Park on Monday evening (21/2). The couple didn’t know they were being recorded by a CCTV camera connected with the Bali police department office, where the suspects were doing surveillance.

Instead of reporting the incident to a nearby officer so they could detain the couple, the suspects published the explicit video through social media.

However, the police admitted that they were still unable to identify the couple as they both wore face masks to cover their faces.

Shortly after the video went viral, both suspects were detained through an internal investigation. “We haven’t published the identity of both suspects as they’re still currently being investigated by the Profession and Security Officer of Bali Police Department,” Kombespol Syamsi concluded.
