Turyapada Tower Set To Become Top North Bali Tourist Attraction

Share The Article

Bali’s Turyapada Tower has this week embarked on its latest chapter. Bali’s Deputy Governor Nyoman Giri Prasa launched digital TV broadcasts from the tower, and it’s an all too timely reminder that officials want the communications post to offer more than just digital connectivity to residents and tourists.

The Turyapada Tower has just entered a new era of functionality. The Deputy Governor of Bali, Nyoman Giri Prasta, officially launched the second stage of digital television broadcasts from the tower earlier this week. At the ceremony, Deputy Governor Prasta read a letter from Governor Wayan Koster.

He shared, “We are entering a new chapter of information and entertainment services that are clear, more borderless and available to all levels of society, especially in North Bali.”

The primary objective of the IDR 418 billion communications project, which saw the construction of the Turyapada Tower, was to tackle signal blank zones in Karangasem Regency, Buleleng Regency, and Jembrana Regency.

The Bali Provincial Government has since committed to establishing the site as a province-owned tourism attraction with hopes that it will become as synonymous with Bali as the Eiffel Tower is to France and the Tokyo Tower to Japan.

The Turyapada Tower is a free-to-visit tourist attraction in Buleleng Regency. The transmission tower stands at an impressive 115m tall and at 1,636m above sea level.

It is poised to offer breathtaking views of the North Bali landscape and offer tourists a chance to breathe in the cooler air of Bali’s higher elevations. The tower is surrounded by mountain forest and is just minutes away from some of Bali’s most impressive cultural and natural landmarks.

Visitors can walk across the glass bridge on the 5th floor of the tower, though it’s not for those scared of heights! As structurally sound as the Turyapada Tower is, the long view down to the ground from the 5th floor of the tower can make you feel a bit weak at the knees.

For more fresh air vistas, the skywalk on the 9th floor of the Turyapada Tower is perhaps the most impressive viewpoint of all.

Heading all the way up to the 10th floor, guests can experience the wonders of the planetarium. Within the planetarium, guests can dive into the astronomy education features and even enjoy the interactive night sky viewing experience.

Turyapada Tower is open for guests who have booked tickets in advance. Tickets and entry can be arranged via the Turyapada Tower official website.

Visiting times are the same every day, with sessions at 10 am -12 pm and 1 pm – 3 pm. Tour guides are available, and guests have the option of joining a group tour or a private tour experience.

While visiting sessions at Turyapada Tower are only 2 hours long, with so much to do in the surrounding area, a visit makes for just one of many incredible stop-offs on a day trip to the Bedugul Highlands.

In fact, with so much to explore in this region of Bali, more and more tours are booking overnight stays, and there are plenty of gorgeous accommodations to choose from.

The Handara Golf & Resort Bali is one of the most luxurious stays in the area, and the Strawberry Hill Hotel and Restaurant is a popular choice just steps from Lake Beratan.

The Turyapada Tower is just a few minutes’ drive from the iconic Ulun Danu Beratan Temple and the glistening Beratan Lake.

The tower is also a great stop off on a day trip that visits The Blooms Garden, Handara Gate, the Bali Botanical Garden, and even the Twin Lakes; Lake Buyan and Lake Tamblingan.

From the top of the tower, visitors can enjoy 360-degree panoramic views and even feel like they are standing within the clouds.

At night the tower is lit up like a Christmas tree changing colours but most wouldn't see that because they like sitting in traffic all day

A restaurant at an upper level would make a killing - pun intended.

@Shorty, Like the one in Seattle! Would make more sense, but sense passed by Bali a long time ago.

Completely unnecessary. It's just the governor's legacy for all to see. Classic monumentalism. How about sorting out the garbage or traffic issues first? Oh, yeah, that's boring, no-one will remember me for that.
