A tourist driver threatened a cabin crew member while offering his services at the Bali Ngurah Rai Airport area on Friday morning (22/4).
The Head of Criminal Investigation Bureau, Iptu Kadek Supendodi, confirmed that a suspect, I Wayan S (a.k.a. Wayan Ompong) from Rendang, Karangasem, threatened a cabin crew member with the initials SF (age 27).
The victim came to the airport with his friend to receive the Covid-19 vaccine booster on Friday at 8:00 am. After doing so, both of them walked towards the motorbike parking area so that they could go home.
But as they walked past the parking area of the domestic terminal, Wayan approached them. He attempted to offer his services to them, but the victims rejected him.
Wayan kept approaching the victims, forcing them to accept his offer. After getting rejected twice, Wayan got mad and threatened to assault the victims with a sharp object. Shortly after the victims managed to leave the airport, one of the victims filed a report to the airport authority through an email, while the other one posted a complaint on his Twitter account.
After receiving the report, the airport authorities immediately detained the suspect and began an investigation. During the mediation between both parties, the victim agreed to end the case. He refused to pursue a lawsuit against the suspect as Wayan apologized and promised to stop his aggressive behavior.
“The victim has forgiven the suspect and won’t continue with his lawsuit,” Iptu Supendodi said.

🤗 danke 🤗 danke 🥳

@Klaus Hoffmann, Germany should start immediately with freedom efforts, instead to put oil into fire by delivering weapons to war countries such Ukraine, otherwise Germany can be rocketed and blown away. It’s older Russian military promise, that no Russian soldier should ewer again die because of Germany. - It’s better to drive yourself instead to depend on others. - Taxi driver was perhaps reading that German car industry is importing cheap parts from P.C.R. to install it into there expensive cars.

He should be arrested by police for threatening with a sharp object. Isn't the policing anyway. Stop his licence for 6 to 12 months. The man must be punished

Get rid of all these harassing drivers from the airport. It's the very first thing a new visitor experiences when coming to Bali and it's very negative. Hundred annoying people hawking on the new arrival, then ripping them off with a long drive in horrible traffic, only to get harassed even more later on the streets by beggars and on the beach by more hawkers/sellers. This is the Bali experience that you offer.

@Wayan Bo, That has happened to me, not only in Denpesar, but its worse in Jakarta, where I was driven to the wrong airport terminal, then had to get another driver to take me to the right one.
Bali drivers are less agressive.
