The Head of HPPNP, I Putu Gede Suka Widana , confirmed that he has filed a report to the police concerning the illegal fees being collected from tourists. This is on top of the official levies that are collected by the Klungkung regional government.

“Tourists are being required to pay illegal fees on top of the official levies. That’s what makes us concerned,” Widana said on Wednesday (6/4).

During a meeting that was attended by the Head of Nusa Penida Police and Military Department, Widana explained that he has received many complaints from the local tour guides and drivers as their customers were double charged upon entering tourist spots in Pejukutan Village, Nusa Penida.

“This is really unethical, because visitors were unofficially charged for sightseeing,” Widana added.

Meanwhile, the Head of Nusa Penida Police Department, Kompol I Gede Redastra, stated that he will conduct an inspection of those tourist spots.

“We will begin our investigation by collecting information from the poeple around that area and will try a persuasive approach to prevent the issue from becoming bigger,” Kompol Redastra concluded.

it is also reported that if a guest takes a tour of the west and east on the second day, he pays 2 times, this will be very detrimental to the guest, and detrimental to the agent if the price is included, on the other hand there is already an entrance ticket to each object

This type of rip off is so common in Thailand. Here they try to rip off tourists at every turn. From the minute you land there are layers of scams everywhere. Caveat Emptor friends.

Go to google map or TripAdvisor for the most "popular" tourist spots in Bali: Forget the 5 star reviews. Select instead the lowest rated reviews and you will soon realize what tourists are facing: Parking fees, mandatory guide fees, entrance fees, photo fees, overcharging, outright hostilities, trash (what are the fees for?), overdevelopment with buildings and fences set up obstructing views etc. Even loud techno music in one of the major waterfalls. Tranquility no more. Quite a lot to improve on.

@Freed, that's what they do every step of the way. Pay pay pay for every step you walk at. And then they make the stay as annoying as possible. It's really time to start finding a better destination to go to.
