A 24-year-old man with the initials ECB from Jogjakarta has been arrested for selling cookies with CBD in Denpasar.
The Head of the Denpasar Police Department, AKBP Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, confirmed that the suspect was arrested from his house in Denpasar on Friday (1/4) at 7:00 pm for producing cookies with CBD. He obtained the illegal substance from a man in China.
“We searched the suspect’s house during the arrest and seized evidence from the scene,” AKBP Bambang said on Wednesday (6/4).
The investigation began when the police received information from a Customs officer who became suspicious of packages they had been receiving from China through the Post Office.
On April 1, the police spotted the suspect suspiciously taking a package from a tree in Jalan Tukad Musi and immediately arrested him on the spot. The suspect admitted that he stored the drugs in his house and used it to bake cookies for his customers.
“Per the test from our laboratory, it was confirmed that the package contains CBD which is a derivative product of marijuana. The suspect has been selling them to his loyal costumers,” AKBP Bambang concluded.
The suspect was already imprisoned in 2018 for narcotics abuse. He has been detained along with the evidence as the investigation to find his network is still underway.
