Sanur has long been one of Bali’s most loved tourism resorts. While many think that Kuta is Bali’s OG tourism resort, it is, in fact, Sanur. This quiet fishing village, now a booming tourism resort, has still maintained much of its quiet coastal charms. Sanur, unlike resorts like Seminyak and Canggu, has always maintained its status as a relaxed, family-friendly resort. That is not to say that Seminyak and Canggu are not family friends, far from it. However, it is worth noting that Sanur does not have the thrumming nightlife scene that can be found further along the coast.
Over the last six decades Sanur has undergone a series of massive transformations, and none so big as in the last five years. As Sanur prepares to become one of the biggest medical tourism destinations in Asia, the resort has once again proven that it can both keep up with the times, and maintain its cultural roots and local feel.
