Ubud is a resort destination in Bali best known for its arts and cultural scene. The town is one of the busiest tourism destinations in Bali, welcoming tens of thousands of visitors every week.
As travel destinations go, Ubud is one of the safest places to explore, but in light of the increasing number of visitors, police aren’t taking any chances when it comes to public safety.
Police in Ubud have launched a new public night safety campaign called the ‘Blue Light Patrol.’ The aim is to create more police presence in the town center at night to help deter potential criminals and help tourists feel safe.
Police Chief Kompol Made Uder told reporters, “In anticipating unwanted things, we at the Ubud Police have created a mobile and stationary [patrol unit] that is always in the midst of the community to provide a sense of security through a massive increase in active blue light patrols at night according to the policy of the Bali Police Chief through the Gianyar Police Chief.”

The stationary unit of the Blue Light Patrol is set to be positioned outside the Coco Mart Intersection in the heart of the town.
Both the stationary and mobile units will be tasked with managing traffic in the tourist resort throughout the night, making sure that traffic does not build up and ensuring drivers are prioritizing safety.
Kompol Uder revealed that the new night patrol team was deployed as of Monday evening and has yet to need to respond to any suspicious or criminal activity.
He added, “The active Blue Light Patrol will continue to run to provide a sense of security. Both for the public and tourists.”

Ubud is a destination in Bali better known for its arts and culture, food, and shopping experiences for tourists more so than for big nights out.
Resorts like Canggu, Seminyak, and Uluwatu have been designed with partying and nightlife in mind. There is a thriving nightlife scene in Ubud that revolves around food, cocktails, and live music.

One of the most popular nightlife hangouts in Ubud is Cantina. The rooftop restaurant and bar serve up good food, good drinks, and iconic temple views.
The bar is located close to the entrance to the famous Campuhan Ridgewalk, opposite the must-visit Blanco Museum.
The Cantina Rooftop boasts unrivaled views of the stunning Pura Gunung Leba, which is most recognizable for six tall pagodas and is surrounded by ancient and ornate stone carvings and statues.
Cantina Rooftop is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed and indulgent evening of wining and dining, and the cocktail menu offers something for everyone.
For those looking for a night of good music and dancing in Ubud, Cantina is an ideal starting point as come 8pm, the restaurant’s sister speakeasy bar opens its doors, and the tune starts to play.
The hidden den can be found by following the red arrow to the Boliche Cocktail Bar. The speakeasy welcomes some of the hottest underground DJs in Bali from 8pm til late, seven days a week.
Jalan Monkey Forest has to be the number one street in Ubud for a big night out. Tourists love The Blue Door.
Boasting an impressive cocktail museum, cozy lounge areas, and plenty of space to dance, the music and high vibes at The Blue Door are not to be missed.
As the new police Blue Light Patrol commits to regular nighttime patrols in Ubud, should tourists be worried?
Absolutely not; the police are making their presence known to help keep tourists and local residents safe.
While part of the move to increase police patrols in the resort has been influenced by a series of incidents of tourists behaving badly so far this year, the patrol is targeting stamping out potential crime before it happens and to ensure that as the resort becomes every busier and more popular that the public has a clear point of contact should an emergency strike.

Why would there be more law enforcement needed to safeguard the digital, public and local commercial interests post pandemic these days??
One cannot also deny the facts of the current political climate and the ongoing nonsense war in Eastern Europe displacing people affected by the war and conscription.
Organized crimes (involving foreign and locals) and cyber crimes on its highest level may well also find a niche here too. Just saying...
