A neighborhood around Jalan Gatot Subroto VI L, Dauh Puri Kaja Village Denpasar has closed their access to the public during self-quarantine.

Officials from the Dauh Puri Kaja Village, I Gusti Ketut Sucipta confirmed that one of the neighborhoods of the village has been closed during 5 days of self-isolation. The decision was made after 20 people who have been living in that neighborhood were confirmed positive with Covid-19. The 5 days of closure started from 7:00am on the 1st to the 5th of July 2021. 20 people who tested positive have been relocated to a quarantine facility that is provided by the Denpasar city government, while the rest of the residents who were tested negative from Covid-19 are required to undergo self-isolation in their homes.

The Denpasar city government has instructed the Covid-19 Handling Task Force to start rapid antigen testing of random people as Covid-19 cases began to surge recently.

“We have cooperated with the Denpasar Covid-19 Handling Task Force to receive our Covid-19 patients at their quarantine facility.” Sucipta said. He also explained that Sucipta has communicated with the Social Agency to help them provide all the basic needs to the remaining people who are undergoing quarantine at home. “We have also cooperated with the Social Agency to provide all the basic needs for the rest of the people who tested negative but are required to undergo self-quarantine at home.” Sucipta added.

He also said that Dauh Puri Kaja Village has been considered as a green zone since the 4th of June 2021. But a new cluster of Covid-19 was created after two of the residents came back from a holiday in Depok, West Java. Several days after their arrival, both of them tested positive with Covid-19 along with their neighbor who picked them up at the airport when they arrived. After knowing this information, village officials conducted the Covid test on the other 43 residents on Tuesday (29/6), resulting in a total of 20 people testing positive with Covid so the closure was implemented.
