After 20 years of service, the iconic fast food restaurant that was located right in front of Kuta Beach has decided to close down their business. Both locals and expats were shocked and saddened after seeing the announcement on the front door that was posted on Sunday Sept 27th 2020.

The McDonalds location has not given a reason for the closure but many assumed to closure is sure to COVID1-9.   “Since tourism is dead, the Kuta Beach area became very quiet and seems like a ghost town”, said one of the locals in the area.

This is not the first time McDonalds has closed down a location in Indonesia.  Another McDonalds in Jakarta in the Sarinah Building  closed down on May 2020. The location was closed because the McDonalds didn’t fit with the new renovation of the building.
