The victim, identified as I Made Adi Dharma Putra (aged 17), had tried to find some reeds for his cattle in Geluntung Village, Tabanan on October 20th 2021.

He spent a few hours collecting the reeds. When he got home at 11:30 am, he realized he had lost his cellphone, which he had put inside his pocket earlier in the morning.

As he became desperate to find his phone, the victim filed a report to the Marga police department. The police traced the cellphone’s location in the Payangan, Gianyar area.

When the police came to Sada’s home in Payangan, he admitted that he had found the cellphone but was unwilling to bring it back to the owner, so he changed the sim card. He is likely to face five years of imprisonment following Article 362 from the Indonesian Criminal Law’s Book.
