Authorities from the Selemadeg police department invited a clown to entertain elementary school children at vaccination sites.

The Head of the Selemadeg Police Department, AKP Ni Komang Sri Subakti, confirmed that a clown, who was previously captured by authorities while begging in Tabanan, was invited to entertain the children in Megati 1 Elementary School and Tegal Mengkeb 1 Elementary School.

The government has appointed both schools as vaccination sites.

“It was really effective to help fix the mood of the children as they for their turn to receive the vaccine. It also amused those who were afraid to get vaccinated,” AKP Subakti said on Tuesday (21/12).

After around one hour of performing for the children, the clown was paid and transported home as he had to get back to his shift as a construction worker. He will also continue working as a clown during the vaccination program from 21st to 27th of December 2021.

“We hope that this vaccination program can finish on time, by the 27th of December,” AKP Subakti concluded.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Tabanan Health Agency, Dr. Nyoman Susila, said that this vaccination program targeting children from 6 to 11 years old have been running in all sub-districts in the Tabanan region.

“I also want to remind all unvaccinated adults to receive the Covid-19 vaccine from nearby clinics,” Dr. Susila said.

What a great idea. Puts those children at ease. Now, someone should donate some type of candy to give those kids after they get the shot. How about it folks? Any givers out there? Hey Sun Editors, how about starting something worthwhile for the community that you represent? I for one am willing to donate.
