Man Detained After Assaulting Locals In Bali

A 44-year-old man with initials KS from Bakas Village, Klungkung has been detained by authorities after assaulting people in Banjarakan on Sunday (29/8).

The Head of the Banjarakan Police Department, AKP Nikolaus Sina Ruing confirmed that the man who was known by nearby villagers for suffering with mental health was detained by the police after attempting to assault a man who came to pray near a dam that is located in Tusan Village, Banjarakan on Saturday (28/8).

“After receiving a report regarding the incident that occurred which caused the victim to suffer from injuries after getting assaulted by KS, we finally managed to detain him on Sunday (29/8) from his place near the dam in Banjarakan.” AKP Nikolaus said on Sunday (29/8). Prior to the incident, the victim, I Nengah Gandra (aged 65) came to the location with his son as they planned to pray near the dam in Tusan village on Saturday.

Suddenly, KS who had been living in a hut along the dam came and started to assault Gandra. “After getting assaulted, Gandra and his son managed to run away and seek help from authorities.” AKP Nikolaus added. Once the officer received a report from the victim, they set off to begin their operation to detain KS on Sunday morning around 9:30am. “We finally managed to capture KS from the street around Negari village, Banjarakan on Sunday morning very carefully before transporting him to the Social Agency and then the Bangli Mental Hospital, because he’s not a criminal and just needs help.” AKP Nikolaus concluded.
