A Malaysian national with initials CL has been arrested for using hypnosis to scam and steal in Bali.
The Denpasar Police Department confirmed that the suspect was arreeted along with his 3 other partners for hypnotizing several people in Bali and persuading the victims to give them their valuable items.
The police managed to identify and arrest the suspects on Thursday evening (24/3).
An investigation regarding this case began after the police reports from two different victims in Bali.
“We received the first report from a 77-year-old woman named Made Wahyuantari on October 27th 2021 and the second report was from a 60-year-old woman named Nyoman Meriasih on March 24th 2022,” said the police.
During the interrogation, CL admitted that he had committed both crimes together with 3 Indonesian citizens. They served as his partners in doing this illegal activity.
“The suspect managed to take cash and jewelry worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from both victims,” the police added. All the suspects have been detained as the investigation is still underway.
