Italian Man Assaulted By Local In Seminyak

A 47-year-old man named Federico from Italy has been assaulted by a local man on Jalan Camplung Tanduk Number 200X in Seminyak, Badung. A discourse between the two men quickly escalated in the middle of the road, causing serious injury to the victim.

The Head of Kuta Criminal Investigation Bureau, Iptu Made Putra Yudistira, confirmed that incident the occurred on Saturday afternoon in front of the Cosebelle Multiconcept Store.

“The Italian man who was assaulted that day suffered serious injury and was rushed to the hospital to receive medical attention,” said police.

According to information from a witness, the incident happened as Frederico was cleaning up his garden on Saturday afternoon. He called a garbage truck to come to his house to help him transport the rubbish to the landfill. Shortly after, an identified man came with a motorbike and got angry as he was unable to access the road because of the garbage truck.

“According to the CCTV footage, the unidentified man who was wearing a red shirt began assaulting Frederico by choking and slamming him to the ground several times, and caused a bone fracture to his left leg,” the police added. Some people who saw the incident stopped him, and so he got back on his motorbike and left. 

Frederico was immediately rushed to the hospital by his brother, I Gusti Ngurah Arya Gamparich, and he also filed a report to Kuta Police Department regarding the incident. “We have identified the man who assaulted that expat, so he will be arrested in no time.” Iptu Yudistira concluded on Monday.
