Art and culture are at the heart of the Balinese tourism offering. The island’s heritage is steeped in artistic expression, and artists can be found practicing their traditional crafts across the island.

Bali’s world-famous Goa Gajah will be hosting a stunning new art exhibition until 25th February 2026.

Tourists seeking to connect more deeply with Balinese culture simply must visit the newly opened ‘Humanity’ art exhibition at Goa Gajah just outside of Ubud. The exhibition features work from 28 local artists who are part of the Wajah Art Community. The exhibition is proudly showcasing a diverse range of artistic expressions and approaches from the artist collective.

As part of the exhibition, each of the 28 artists is showcasing three to five works, allowing visitors to explore dozens of pieces reflecting humanitarian issues, social empathy, and the artists’ inner experiences. The exhibition features a diverse range of visual styles and techniques, making it a space for both appreciation and reflection.

The exhibition is now open to the public and was officially opened by Gianyar Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) member Gusti Ngurah Made Serana.

During his speech, Serana shared, “Exhibitions like this are crucial for keeping artistic traditions alive and nurturing future generations who can inherit the artistic values of the masters.”

He highlighted how exhibitions like this help build upon the legacy made by world-famous Bedulu art masters like Gusti Nyoman Lempad and I Gusti Karang Rangkus.

Exhibiting artist Sang Made Budiasa shared his gratitude to all those who supported the exhibition. He shared his hopes that the exhibition will serve as a space for encounter, dialogue, and reflection on humanity through the medium of fine art.

He noted, “Hopefully, this exhibition will not only be a place to showcase works, but also a space for dialogue and reflection on human values.”

The 28 artists featured in the exhibition are  A Adi, Acmad Tem, Danta, Syukur, Desire, Genny, Ngurah Astawa, Patrianto, Man Dira, Mahmud Rowi, Sang Made Budiasa, Solikun, Nyoman Antara, Manami, Dewa Merta, Aris Koneng, Soger, Farfan, Mudra, Herman Sanusi, Made Tresna, Huda Fauzan, Fery, Lucky, Imam Syafei, Ainur Rohmah, Bambang, and Erwin.

The exhibition makes a visit to the Goa Gajah Cave even more culturally rich. Goa Gajah Cave is one of the most culturally significant sites in Gianyar Regency and is located just 15 minutes from the centre of Ubud.

Also known as the Ubud Elephant Cave and Temple, here at The Bali Sun, it is one of the first cultural landmarks we recommend when friends and family come to visit. The temple’s history dates back over 1,000 years and features both Hindu and Buddhist art and design elements.

A visit to Goa Gajah Cave and Temple can be completed in a couple of hours; of course, this month it’s important to add an extra hour to enjoy the Humanity Art Exhibition.

There are plenty of cultural and spiritual landmarks located nearby that make it super easy for tourists to create a cultural day trip itinerary, whether staying in Ubud or traveling up to the area from the resorts of the central south like Canggu and Seminyak.

Yeh Pulu Temple is just a short drive away and is home to archeological ruins and offers some of the best uninterrupted scenic views of rice paddy greenery in central Ubud. The temple complex is little known to most tourists and often overlooked in favour of more famous sites like Goa Gajah.
