Because it was already dark when search rescue arrived, the team used bright spotlights to try and search for the missing victim. “Rescue personnel were unable to search by sea due to the dark conditions,” said Darmada.

“Last night the team coordinated with related agencies and also the local community tried to dig up information, especially the position where the victim sank,” Darmada explained.

On Saturday morning the search resumed with 4 rescue personnel searching by land, a team in a boat and two on jet-skis.

“As for the identity of the victim, we are still digging information, and last night we also coordinated with the hotel where he was staying,”  Darmada concluded.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Bali issued a large wave warning on Saturday morning. The alert warns beach visitors and fishermen to expect waves between 2 to 6 meters.
