Villagers in Pejeng Kangin Village, Tampaksiring Gianyar were confused by an expat seen sitting alone in a rice farm from morning to late afternoon. A video of the 20-year-old expat (initials RDJ) taken by a villager went viral on social media.

RDJ was spotted sitting still for a long time on Wednesday morning (3/3). At first, villagers thought the expat was dazed or lost, as he didn’t show a response to their questions though his eyes were open.

One of them decided to upload the video online, in hopes that somebody who knew him would pick him up from the location.

Momentarily, authorities arrived at the location and found that the foreigner was only meditating. The Head of Tampaksiring Police Department, AKP I Wayan Sujana confirmed that after receiving a report, he deployed officers to check on the situation.

“The expat who has been staying in Sukawati, Gianyar was actually doing meditation. He previously came to Bali Eling Spirit Association in Banjar Umadawa to join the yoga community there” AKP Sujana said on Wednesday afternoon.

He also explained that RDJ is under the supervision of the association during his mental recovery program, but Sujana didn’t mention the type of illness that RDJ currently has.

“One of the officials from the association, Jro Ratni will pick him up later today at 2:00 pm and bring him home in Kemenuh, Sukawati” AKP Sujana concluded.
