Bali’s Apurva Kempinski Hotel has been named the Best Sustainable Hotel at the esteemed ULTRAs 2024.
The Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards, held in London earlier this month, saw Bali’s most highly regarded hotel earn yet more accolades from the tourism sector for its world-class offering and long-standing commitment to environmental and social good in its operation.
As voted for by 28 million GHA DISCOVERY members, The Apurva Kempinski Bali was recognized among the world’s leading hotels, destinations, airlines, and airports at the glitzy ULTRAs awards ceremony. The annual ceremony took place at The State Apartments and The Orangery, Kensington Palace in the UK.
In a written statement following the win, the General Manager of The Apurva Kempinski Bali, Vincent Guironnet, shared, “It is an honor for us to be recognized globally as a leader in sustainable hospitality. This achievement is a testament to our unwavering dedication to redefining luxury through a sustainable perspective.”
He added, “As we celebrate our journey towards a sustainable future, we remain dedicated to continuing to innovate and drive meaningful change while delivering exceptional experiences to our guests.”
The Apurva Kempinski is a true leader in both hospitality and environmentally sustainable hotel management.
The hotel is pioneering the way by embracing all aspects of environment and social governance in its business approach.
The Apurva Kempinski Bali’s commitment to sustainable growth includes implementing effective sustainability management and empowering local communities through programs such as Sustainable Agriculture and Apurva School.
The hotel is also engaging in a series of initiatives to reduce environmental impacts, including waste management, hydroponic gardens, electric vehicle services for guests, and mangrove planting programs.
As Bali looks to promote more sustainable and culturally respectful tourism, The Apurva Kempinski is a lighthouse in the storm.
The Apurva Kempinski, located in the heart of Nusa Dua, has welcomed some of the most esteemed travelers in the world through its doors, including billionaires, political leaders, royalty, and celebrities.
Offering 465 stunning rooms, suites, and villas to guests in addition to once-in-a-lifetime dining experiences, life-changing indigenous spa treatments, and more; no stay at The Apurva Kempinski is ever long enough.
60% of all the rooming options at The Apurva Kempinski offer a private plunge pool, and the hotel has been designed and adorned to reflect the rich cultural heritage of both Bali and the wider Indonesian archipelago.
At present, The Apurva Kempinski’s only hotel in Bali can be found in Nusa Dua, but all that is about to change.
The Apurva Kempinski will also be opening a new hotel in Payangan Village in 2027, set to house 160 rooms, offering guests the chance to experience the best of Bali’s blue and green landscapes with world-class, seamless hospitality afforded to guests who travel to Bali for the full Apurva Kempinski experience.
It is awards season in the hospitality world, and Bali is coming out on top in more ways than one. The Grand Hyatt Bali has been ranked in the top five resorts in the world by Condé Nast Traveller in 2024.
Gottfried Bogensperger, General Manager of Grand Hyatt Bali, told the press, “We are incredibly proud and honored to be ranked number four among the best resorts in Indonesia by Condé Nast Traveller.”
Adding, “This recognition motivates us to keep enhancing our services and offerings, ensuring an unparalleled experience for all who visit.”
Grand Hyatt Bali, also located in Nusa Dua, is a 5-star gem of a hotel that is especially loved by families who are seeking a combination of real adventure, cultural immersion, and total beachfront relaxation.
The all-inclusive packages offer complimentary access to the Grand Hyatt’s Kid’s Club, making for a well-balanced getaway for all the family.

The Kempinski is definitely the ugliest starred hotel in Bali. Their architect went for the unfinished scaffolding look, so the hotel is a complete eyesore to this day. On top of that they built destructive breakwalls that severely damaged the reefs and waves in front of their hotel. So sure, they have great service but not enough to overcome their massive warts. Never patronize this mistake of a hotel.

Looks great….but the rains are coming and garbage season is going to cover the beaches, roads and trails with ugly stinking trash…I’ll never visit Bali in garbage season ( November to April) . You might excuse officials if the garbage was a one time disaster, but it’s every year…..and it never gets cleaned up until the tide shifts in June.
