Bali has taken development to the next level. Once upon a time, the island saw the development of individual hotels and villas, then things shifted towards the development of bigger resorts and residential complexes, and for the last 5 years, there has been a growing focus on whole new cities and special economic zones, from Sanur through to Tabanan Regency.

Nuanu Creative City is described by its founders as a city of the future “where culture, nature, and innovation thrive together, blending divine inspiration with harmonious living.”
Located on the Tabanan Regency coast, overlooking Pantai Nyanyi, Nuanu Creative City is one of the most ambitious and pioneering projects Bali has ever seen. Now home to Luna Beach Club, the Aurora Media Park, the Magic Garden, the ProEd Global School, the stunning THK Tower, as well as the southern hemisphere’s first wolf sanctuary and lodge, and so much more, Nuanu Creative City is redefining what a city is for 2026 and long beyond.
As the peak travel season approaches in Bali, Nuanu Creative City is making the space more accessible and more enjoyable for visitors. Nuanu Park is a new public destination where nature, art, culture, and family experiences all come together.
The park will be opened this summer, and will be the first point of arrival for many of the city’s visitors. Nuanu has said that the new parkland is designed to make the creative hub a “more open and accessible to the public, inviting people to enter the creative city through exploration, learning, play, and shared experiences.”
Speaking to reporters, Nuanu’s CEO, Lev Kroll, shared, “Nuanu Park is an important step in opening Nuanu up to more people.”
Adding “As the ecosystem grows, we want the first experience of Nuanu to feel accessible and connected to daily life, not closed off or overly formal. It should give people a clear way to enter, spend time, and slowly understand what Nuanu is becoming.”
“For us, public infrastructure like this is just as important as larger cultural or hospitality projects, because it gives people a reason to return and build a real relationship with the place.”
Nuanu has explained that ”Once launched, Nuanu Park is expected to play an important role in shaping public engagement with Nuanu Creative City.”
“Through outdoor activities, masterclasses, family-centred experiences, cultural discovery, dog-friendly spaces, and accessible public areas, the park will offer visitors a new way to experience Nuanu from the moment they arrive.”

While the Nuanu Park is set to be launched in a few weeks, there are already more than enough reasons to visit Nuanu Creative City.
From 3rd June to 12th July 2026, Nuanu Creative City will be proudly hosting the return of Bali’s original and only international photography festival, FOTO Bali Festival.

The FOTO Bali Festival is presented in partnership with Nuanu Creative City and has the event’s backing of the national tourism board, Wonderful Indonesia.
During a recent visit, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, told reporters, “Wonderful Indonesia supports initiatives that strengthen Indonesia’s creative ecosystem and cultural dialogue.
FOTO Bali Festival 2026 represents how art, photography, and community can come together to create meaningful cultural conversations rooted in Bali.”

In 2026, the event is gaining traction, receiving nearly 700 submissions from photographers from 80 countries. The festival will feature work from 36 selected artists who hail from 24 different countries, with the theme ‘Afterimage’, and the exhibition has been curated by Kurniadi Widodo and Putu Sridinari.
FOTO Bali Festival 2026 Exhibition tickets are available online now at the Nuanu website. One-day access tickets start at IDR 50,000 and include entry to Nuanu.

@Thommo, It has a lot to offer and is quite impressive once you look around.
I think you're involved as well. First of all of the 44 hectares used to build this so called 'futuristic' desert (even Nusantara at some point is more visionary...), a big portion was rice paddies, green zoning for who doesn't know. Converted for the benefit of a foreign individual (backed for sure not for free by Indonesian entities) and I'm really happy for the people who found a job, but unfortunately most local people will never be able to enter and stroll around for those prices. More than else it's annoying that after you paid the entrance you may have to pay for everything you want to see inside as well (except a few little stuff).
Anyway it's not the first neither the last project of this kind and the green land selling is going on as well... maybe in a 10-15 years when it's going to be late (in my opinion that point has been already crossed...) people or the politics will realise the capital disaster done previously. It will take decades to restore Bali and I suppose (looking at Jakarta's condition) it will never happen till the very end.

@Thommo, This is part of the trend blocking off and monetize nice beach view/access along the coast. No bueno.

@Gary, Principal developer is Russian but he has Indonesian/SE Asian backers. I was initially against it but it is a very visionary idea/focus. It has a lot to offer and is quite impressive once you look around. Sure it's built for tourism and has some teething problems due to its vast aspects. Do people think something like this should be lower costed or free. It employs a massive amount of locals. Get out to the villages in Bali and see how many live in poverty and have no formal employment. Don't go to Nuanu if it doesn't float your boat there's always Tanah Lot nearby for you.

I went there with relatives visiting Bali. The disappointment was huge and general starting by the parking guards insisting I park my car in a specific way which I did not want because i need free access to the car rear for easily accessing baby chair etc from the trunk, finally a more intelligent individual indicated to me I could park the way I desired . The whole experience set the mood .This is an expensive non event, an outrageous tourists trap. Unfriendly in many ways, like no benches to sit a bit for a due rest, only exceptionally welcoming staffers, very rude vendors (my Indonesian wife was shock!) , and above really nothing to see or to discover. If you want to waste your time at 750k Rph entrance fee go ahead. I am done with this place.
