The Covid-19 Special Forces has decided to focus more on inspecting and supervising the implementation of prevention protocols in several Hindu Temples during Kuningan Celebration.
The Head of Operations for the Bali Police, Kombes Pol Firman Nainggolan said that his team has decided to focus more on assuring the compliance of prevention protocols in temples such as Jagatnatha Temple in Denpasar and Sakenan Temple in Serangan during the Kuningan Celebration on Saturday (24/4). “We placed our officers in there to assure that all the protocols were properly implemented.” Firman said.
Apart from the congregations, the officers also inspected the compliance of local vendors who set up local street food outside the temples area. “We gave some warnings as well as educating those who were getting caught for not wearing the mask properly, in order to avoid creating new clusters during this celebration.” Firman added. He also admitted that the officers still found many people who didn’t completely cover their mouth and nose despite wearing a facemask on their face.
However, Kombes Pol Firman also appreciated the compliance of all the Hindu Temples that he has inspected, as all of them have provided hand-washing stations in several different spots to keep people’s hands sanitized before entering the temple. He also explained that his team will keep on working to assure that everyone on the island is following the protocols to prevent Covid-19 cases from surging. “I remind all residents to also carry out physical distancing and avoid creating a crowd. If we find any negligence during our operation, we won’t hesitate to give sanction in accordance with the current regulations.” Kombes Pol Firman concluded.
