Bali Deploys More Police To Keep Tourists Safe This High Season

As the high tourist season approaches, police in Bali are conducting more patrols to help keep tourists safe.

In the North Kuta area, which encompasses tourist resorts like Seminyak and Canggu, officers will be more visible, especially on weekend nights.

Following the apparent rise in foreigners behaving badly in Bali, police officers across the island’s biggest tourism resorts are working in partnership with the newly formed Tourism Taks Frorces to ensure public safety and respectful behavior.

As the peak season approaches, Bali is bracing for an influx of holidaymakers, many of whom will be heading straight to the resorts and entertainment venues of North Kuta for some proper fun in the sun.

North Kuta covers the stretch of coastline from Seminyak’s Petitenget Beach through to Berawa Beach in Canggu. This is easily the busiest stretch of coastline in Bali right now.

Home to some of the most popular resorts and in-demand dining and party venues, North Kuta is the place to be!

Speaking to reporters, the Head of the Badung Resort Police, AKBP Teguh Priyo Watson, said that he and his teams are committed to ensuring public safety and monitoring the behavior of tourists in the area.

He said, “Yes, we, from the Badung Police, together with the Deputy Chief of Police and the North Kuta Police Head, are monitoring the situation at the Petitenget tourist destination as well as checking the members on duty so that we are always ready if there are people or tourists who need Police assistance.”

It is worth noting that the increased patrols in the area are not merely to crack down on badly behaved tourists but primarily to ensure that the vast majority of the tourists who are adhering to the rules feel safe and seen.

Unfortunately, around the high season, there is always a spike in crimes against tourists, such as phone theft.

While the coastal resorts of Bali are a far cry from the danger zones of other global tourist destinations, visitors should always keep their wits about them and not leave themselves open to opportunistic criminals who follow the tourist crowds.

AKBP Wasono said, “Our personnel is also ready to speak the language [of tourists]. We are intensively doing this to anticipate undesirable things, such as criminal acts, especially mugging.”

He noted that since patrols have increased that there had been “no activities that disrupted the security and order situation in the Petitenget area. Even though there had been a lot of crime in the area before.”

The Police Chief added, “We hope that the community if there are things that disturb our security and order, we hope to report them quickly. So that we can process them.”

Seminyak is easily one of the most chic and stylish tourist destinations in Bali.

Home to luxury private villas at super affordable rates, an incredible selection of fine dining restaurants, world-class nightclubs, and a super chilled-out stretch of beach, the area offers tourists everything they could wish for in a holiday destination.

Venues like La Favela, Potato Head, and Mari Beach Club all remain as popular as ever and showcase the very best of what Seminyak has to offer.

Just off the sunset strip of Seminyak and Petitenget Beach, tourists can find a plethora of food, drink, and dancing to enjoy.

Mrs. Sippy restaurant and beach club, Motel Mexicola, and Mano Beach House should all also be put on the travel spreadsheet of must-visit places!

It’s an easy and accessible holiday destination, just a 40-minute drive from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, and it is a great base for day trips around the rest of the island.

As the dialogue around badly behaved tourists in Bali rolls on, it is positive to see that the strict implementation of rules for travelers, and the policing behind it, will have a positive impact on the overall safety of tourists on the island.

Oh now you pretend to care about tourist safety??

Where was your police during the period of 2020-2022 when foreigners were being robbed daily on the streets?? Not a single police patrol on sight then.

Will these police actually arrest the open drug dealers on ever corner? Or will they continue to work with them to extort high fees for freedom from tourists?
