Authorities from the Badung Police Department have increased their night patrols to prevent a surge in criminal activity during the upcoming holiday season.
In anticipation of the surge in criminal activity during the upcoming holiday season in Bali, the Abiansemal Police Department initiated this program to create a safer environment during the partial lockdown level 3. Under this lockdown, most areas will be quieter due to the curfew policy that will be implemented during the year-end holiday season.
“We will reguarly patrol shopping and residential areas to prevent criminal activities like motorbike theft, which usually occurs in the evening,” Ipda I Ketut Arsana said. Officers will also ensure that everyone is compliant with the prevention protocols implementation to avoid creating a new cluster of Covid-19.
“The Covid-19 pandemic is not yet over, so I urge everyone to keep complying with the protocols,” Ipda Arsana concluded.
Meanwhile, the Head of Badung Police Department, AKBP Leo Dedy Defretes, confirmed that this patroling program is part of the effort to remind the people about the importance of prevention protocols.
“Through this program, we will also urge people to utilize the PeduliLindungi tracing app to prevent the third wave of Covid-19 transmission in our area,” AKBP Defretes said.
