Officials from the Tabanan regional government are preparing to start distributing hundreads of Covid-19 vaccines to disabled citizens in Bali.
The Head of Vaccination Surveillance from Tabanan Health Agency, I Nengah Suarma Putra stated that 1,740 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine from Sinopharm were prepared by Tabanan regional government, and expected to be distributed to people with mental and physical disabilities in four Tabanan sub-districts such as Tabanan, Selemadeg, Pupuan and Marga. “This vaccination program will aim for our disabled citizens in the Tabanan region.” Suarma said on Wednesday (1/9).
Suarma explained that this vaccination program will commence from the 2nd to 4th of September 2021. He will also deploy officers from the Civil Service Office during the process to prevent unpredictable incidents that might occur when they distribute the vaccine to the people. “We have chosen 4 school buildings in 4 different sub-district as vaccination sites, and this program will begin from tomorrow on through to Thursday (2/9).” Suarma added.
Suarma also said that the vaccination process will be conducted by a medical team that was provided by the provincial government and will be monitored by the Tabanan regional government. Officials from the Civil Service Office will stand by at the vaccination sites to assure the safety of all the medical team when they distribute the vaccine to around 400 people. This program was initiated by the government as an effort to reduce Covid-19 transmissions on the island so the economic sector can recover as soon as possible.
