Bali Hopeful That Visit From Miss Universe Finalists Will Promote Tourism

Share The Article

Three Miss Universe finalists have arrived in Bali as a part of the 2022 celebratory tour. The three finalists R’Bonney Nola from the USA, Adrienne Martinez from the Dominican Republic, and Gabriella Del Santoz from Curacao all landed in Bali on Sunday 19th February. Together they will complete a tour of some of Bali’s most famous tourist destinations. Local leaders are hoping that the visit from the Miss Universe finalists will be as impactful as the G20 Summit.

Over the course of the next few days, the three finalists will visit key tourist attractions and cultural landmarks. They have already attended a traditional cultural dress fitting and have had a classic Balinese style photoshoot in their regal attire. Along with their delegation, they will visit Ubud Palace, Taman Dedari, Melasti Beach, Jimbaran Beach, and Pura Uluwatu.

Ms. Nola, Ms. Martinez, and Ms. Santoz were all formally greeted at Bali Airport on Sunday afternoon. They were welcomed to Bali by the Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Tjok Bagus Pemayun. He told reporters, “There are several locations that will be visited, such as Ubud, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, and Uluwatu areas, the activities are shooting and sightseeing.”

Pemayun continued to explain that the visit from the Miss Universe finalists could help build momentum in tourist interest in Bali, in the same way that the G20 Summit did back in November 2022. He explained, “At a time when the economy has not been 100 percent recovered, it is very difficult for us to promote directly abroad, therefore, momentum like Miss Universe must be used as a promotional medium.”

All of the activities undertaken by the Miss Universe finalists will be shared on the official social media accounts of the pageant. The organization’s Instagram account has over 5.7 million followers. Pemayun explained, “All Miss Universe activities in Bali will be exposed to the international world, automatically promoting Bali to the international world. Once this activity is recorded in Bali, or there is Miss Universe status in Bali, the name Bali has been exposed.”

He concluded, “The influence is not only from Miss Universe’s home country but the whole world who know them, especially the countries that participate in the Miss Universe competition.”

The trio will be touring Bali until Thursday 23rd February, and are being hosted by the stunning hotel TS Suites Seminyak. On Tuesday, 21st February, they will attend the Grand Launching of Miss Universe Indonesia, which promises to be a huge event for the island.

According to the organization Miss Universe ‘exists to advocate for a future forged by women with the courage to push the limits of what’s possible’. The organization promotes philanthropic values and supports a huge number of non-profit organizations and programs promoting women’s empowerment and positive social impact around the world.

The arrival of the Miss Universe finalists and the media coverage that they bring will be great news for tourism leaders in Bali. It was announced earlier this year that regency tourism offices would be working in partnership with influencers and content creators to ‘aggressively’ promote Bali as a tourism destination.

Speaking just last week, the Head of the Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) for Badung Regency, Ida Bagus Namarupa said he wants to make promotions and marketing campaigns more fun. He confirmed to reporters that the agency has studied the promotional tactics and strategies of other successful destinations and is preparing to integrate their learnings.

Namarupa said, “Tourism is a dynamic thing, so it cannot stick to old patterns. For Badung itself, we will try to make a more fun promotion model.” He suggested that the tourism agency may create content around a visit to one of the regency’s many tourism villages or showcase the many wellness facilities the area has to offer.

I often plan my holidays to visit wherever The Mrs Universe gals visit so as to be there at the same time. Even though I've never seen one in person, or even smelled their perfume, or jeez even said hello, I'm certain It will be the most amazing travel experience ever.
