During a press conference at the Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Koster announced that the Bali provincial government will implement a strict punishment for any international visitors who violate prevention protocols during their vacation on the island. “Any tourists who violate our prevention protocols, even during their quarantine time in Bali will face harsh punishments, including deportation.” Koster said.

Koster also explained that the Bali provincial government will only allow visitors from countries that have a low positive rate of Covid-19 transmissions. “In accordance with the WHO’s standard, Bali is only open for countries that have less than a 5% positive test rate and implement a reciprocal relationship to allow Indonesian citizens to gain access into their countries.” Koster added.

Visitors who test positive with Covid-19 upon their arrival at Bali Airport will immediately be transported to appointed hospitals in Bali to receive proper medical treatments, while those who test negative will undergo 5 days of quarantine at selected hotels on the island. “If they’ve tested positive with Covid-19 on their fourth day of quarantine, visitors must be relocated to our designated hospitals. But if the test shows a negative result, they can continue to travel and explore our tourist spots on the island.” Koster concluded.

Please work with airlines ASAP to have DIRECT flights to Bali begin soon. I've lived there since 2015 and want to come home, but at present, as far as I know there are no airlines which have scheduled flights to Bali. I will not go through Jakarta, quarantine there, and pay extra to get to Bali. I don't understand how you missed this detail for the opening of the airport.

It won't matter as nobody is going to come to bali whilst the mandate is for quarantine at rip-off prices.

@Paul Speirs, ripoff is the business model there. Every step of the way.

The UK is not on the select 19 countries allowed to enter Bali just yet. Unfortunately the UK Covid-19 cases are soaring. The country recorded nearly half a million cases in the past two weeks. And almost 50 thousand cases on Monday more than France,Germany, Italy and Spain combined. 233 deaths have been reported on Tuesday Hospitalizations have also increased.

Recently Scientists are tracking a new variant called AY.4.2 (a subtype of Delta) spreading in the UK that could be 10% more infectious than the Delta variant. However cases are still low outside the UK.

This new mutation of covid will not cease to exist...unless people are all fully vaccinated, wearing mask and practice social distancing. Letting your guards down have made the virus a real winner again. Therefore Koster may have a point for those domestic and international visitors to abide by the health protocols during the entire visit. Travel responsibly.

@Randy, The UK has over 50% of the worlds genetic sequence labs and has pionereed this technology. Thats how they've found this new mutation and the alpha strain also. The testing in the uk is extreme for example public servants and schoolchildren are tested 4 times a week this is shown in the total positive numbers with the majority being school children. The thing to look for is deaths, this is a more accurate indicator of the severity of covid within the country.

The length of the quarantine is defined by the incubation time of the virus. I have not heard that the there are any changes, who justify the reduction from 8 to 5 days. As a tourist I would not accept this risk and stay away. Why not even discussing the possibility to grant access for fully vaccinated tourists including PCR tests without quarantine like in many other countries. Dear Pak Gubernur threatening potential tourists will not be received well and might have a deterring effect.

Deportation on there own expenses, should be enclosed in big letters.
