During his visit to Bali Governor’s official residence, Jaya Sabha in Denpasar on Monday (18/9), Balanescu asked the Governor, I Wayan Koster to reopen the border for Romanian visitors. “The travel bubble program that was recently implemented by the government could be the beginning of Bali tourism to start reopening its border for more countries, including Romania.” Balanescu said on Monday.

Balanescu also appreciated the governor’s vision to aim for quality tourism for Bali and he’s optimistic that Romanian visitors will provide a positive contribution to the island. “I totally support the government’s program to be more focused on quality tourism, and I’ll ensure that Romanians are one of the best tourists as they had never caused any problem during their visits in Bali before Covid-19 struck in 2020.” Balanescu added.

Apart from tourism, Balanescu also proposed Koster to establish a bilateral relationship between the two countries, especially with one of Romania’s provinces that has similarities with Bali.

Meanwhile Koster appreciated Balanescu’s visit and assured that Bali has been working hard to create better procedures in handling Covid-19 transmissions. Koster explained that Covid-19 cases have significantly reduced as Covid-19 vaccination, testing, tracing and treatment programs have been running rapidly to prevent the cases from surge. “We have prepared new tourism standards for Bali tourism and used this Covid-19 pandemic as momentum to transform our tourism industry.” Koster concluded.

This reopening plan was doomed from the start. Doesn't appear they gave it much thought and or analysis.

The poorest country of Europe ensures that Romanians are the best tourists Bali can have! What a nonsense! Romanians are being the worst tourists and the biggest group of small theft criminals who are harassing every touristic destination in Europe. There next, Romania is the biggest supplier of prostitues. Watch out Bali!

@George, you must be confusing with the " Roma Gypsy People". These group of people have been discriminated throughout history. There has been bad publicity equating romanians with Romas. Racism and discrimination still exist in Romania and in other European nations toward the Roma gypsy people.

By greatest respect of Vlad Dracula, Romania have at the moment one of highest mortality rates in Europe because of Covid, is one of EU country’s with lowest income, without direct flights to Southeast Asia and because of this they would have traveling times of at least 40 hours to Bali.
