The Badung regional government is very enthusiastic with the program called ‘Work From Bali’ that was previously initiated by the Indonesian Maritime and Investment Minister to help Bali’s economic recovery.

The Head of the Badung Tourism Agency, Cokorda Raka Darmawan is quite optimistic that the plan to send at least 25% of government’s staff from Jakarta to Bali would make a massive impact to the tourism sector in the Badung region. “Nusa Dua as the appointed area to receive the government’s staff, The work from Bali program is now ready to operate under strict prevention protocols.” Darmawan said on Thursday (27/5).

He also hopes that the program would increase the occupancy of the hotels in the Nusa Dua area; it has been pretty quiet since the Covid-19 pandemic struck over a year ago. Darmawan explained that the program was initiated as one of the preparation stages of reopening the international travel corridor that is scheduled to be implemented in July 2021. “This program is launched to prepare our tourism workers in the Nusa Dua area before finally receiving international visitors when the border reopens in near future.” Darmawan added.

Darmawan claimed that all the accommodation businesses in Nusa Dua such as hotels and restaurants have implemented all prevention protocols as 100% of them were certified with Clean, Health, Safety and Environment (CHSE) standard. “I remind all of us to keep complying with the prevention protocols in order to create a safer tourism environment in Bali, and to ensure the travelers that they would be free from Covid-19 transmission during their visit in the island.” Darmawan concluded.
