According to the information from the Head of Tabanan Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Wayan Sarba, the program is implemented to verify that all public spaces in Tabanan are free from COVID-19.
A recent surge in cases through local transmission qualified Tabanan District as a red zone area.
Fortunately, dozens of random individuals tested on Saturday evening (16/1) showed negative results.

“This free testing program was initiated to prevent COVID-19 in our area” Wayan Sarba said.
One of the sites included shopping center, Clandys Tabanan. Authorities took samples from shoppers, selected at random, and the whole process took approximately 20 minutes.
From a total of 37 people, zero tested positive with COVID-19.
Sarba stated that the objective of the program was to find the source of virus transmission in Tabanan.

“We don’t just do this once, we will keep on testing people,” Sarba added.
During the program he reminded shop owners to strictly follow prevention protocols while operating their businesses.
The Spokesman of Tabanan Covid-19 Handling Task Force, I Putu Dian Setiawan, said that the government needs to raise awareness as people tend to overlook protocols once they’re not under the supervision of authorities.
