Did you know that the arrivals process for Bali has changed in September 2025? Here at The Bali Sun, we are here to give our readers the latest immigration and travel information so that tourists and travellers can enjoy a safe and comfortable trip to Bali.
It has come to our attention that some of you didn’t get the memo about the All Indonesia App, so as Bali enters the low season, we thought now is the perfect time to give you an update on all things arrival in Bali.

Once upon a time, shortly before landing in Bali, air stewards would walk around the plane handing out customs and arrivals cards for tourists to fill out. These forms would include basic details about travel plans, modes of transport, addresses, and a customs and medical declaration.
This form was then completed by every traveler on arrival and handed to a customs officer after immigration had been cleared. On 1st October 2025, Indonesia Immigration launched the new All Indonesia App. Overnight, this new smartphone application replaced the need for paper arrival and customs cards, making it easier for both tourists and immigration officials to complete the arrivals process and track data.
The system was first trialed at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in September before being introduced to all of Indonesia’s international airports in October. Now that the system has been in place for four months, many tourist arrivals are aware of the steps they must take prior to touching down in Bali. However, there are many who are still unaware and have to quickly download the app on arrival in Bali, or as they check in for their flights.
Speaking at the time of the application rollout, Indonesia’s Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, explained to reporters, “What is expected is that it can make it easier, make it more comfortable, make it more efficient, shorten the time for those two to travel abroad to Indonesia. Whether they are an Indonesian citizen or a foreign citizen.”
He added, “This system integrates functions from customs and excise, health, and quarantine to animal needs, including fishing and its products that enter Indonesia.”
Noting “We hope that anyone who enters Indonesia feels more confident and comfortable. Including investors and all who want to come to Indonesia to have a good experience, positive impression, and then be able to tell others to come back to Indonesia.”
Completing the All Indonesia application is pretty simple. Though it should be noted that this is an entirely different process from applying for the eVisa on Arrival and other categories of eVisa for Indonesia, and separate again from the Bali Tourism Tax Levy.

The first step is to download the All Indonesia app onto your phone. For those who do not have a smartphone, it is possible to complete the process via the official All Indonesia website.
It is, however, advisable to fill out the forms via the app since, upon completion, travelers are issued a QR code to present to customs officers to speed up the arrivals process further.

The forms to be filled out will be familiar to tourists. The first form is to fill out personal information, including passport details, full name, mobile number, and email address. The second form is travel details, which requires travelers to fill out their arrival and departure flight details.
The third form is the mode of transport and address form, where tourists must note their accommodation address for their time in Indonesia. If staying at multiple hotels or addresses, tourists usually just put the address of their first stop into the form.

The final form is the declaration forms, which include customs declarations and health declarations. Upon completion, tourists can submit the forms, and the app will generate a unique QR code that they can show to customs officers.

Many tourists are looking like there are in urgent need to apply for universal income, like Long, Nixon and Elon Musk suggest it.

I don’t know why others may feel it is negotiable. Securing a border is non-negotiable and it can also track undesirable people that may have slipped into the country. For example a few days ago, Balinese law enforcement apprehended a Romanian Murder suspect wanted by Interpol. Tourists, foreign retirees and long term residents want to feel safe in Indonesia especially in Bali.
The All Indonesia arrival card is a straight forward, easy process rather than a Thai, Singaporean or a Japanese cumbersome arrival card. Click on the link of All Indonesia and fill out the information three days prior to arrival in Indonesia and save the QR code to exit customs. The EVoA is also easy but tricky in some ways but will facilitate a smoother process by passing a long line at the counter arrival desk. Using the auto gates for those having the visa on arrival approved and other visa categories that make it easier to pass immigration at the airport.
The All Indonesia should be known to passengers arriving to Indonesia. Airlines that have direct connection to Indonesia from Amsterdam, Istanbul, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, New Delhi, Mumbai, Colombo, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Manila, Ho Chi Minh city, Hanoi, Hongkong, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Sydney, Perth, Darwin, Melbourne and Wellington should have a big sign “All Indonesia” to download at the gates for passengers to fill it out while waiting to board instead of an announcement by the Airlines prior to landing. But for returning residents both foreign and locals and visa run tourists should already know the link to fill out the All Indonesia arrival card prior to arrival into Indonesia. Easy peasy!!!
