The Head of Kuta Criminal Investigation Officer, Iptu Made Putra Yudistira said that the victim realized that his cellphone was missing when he reached into his bag to grab his cigarettes.

“The victim tried to call his number using another phone, but nobody answered,” said Yudistira during an interview on Monday (21/12). The victim immediately reported the incident to the security guard and filed a report at Kuta Police Department that night.

After receiving the report, the officers started their investigation at the scene. With help from La Favela security, they found that an expat had acted suspiciously that evening.
