A Reoffender Was Mobbed For Breaking Into Local Shop In Bali

A 37-year-old man named Ahmad Duratun Nahisin from Sukasada, Buleleng has been mobbed by villagers after breaking into a local shop in Denpasar.

The Head of the West Denpasar Police Department, Kompol Doddy Monza confirmed that the suspect was beaten by a local mob before finally getting arrested by the police for breaking into a local shop that is located on Jalan Gunung Tangkuban Perahu Number 84, West Denpasar on Wednesday morning (16/6). “The suspect was badly beaten by the mob after attempting to steal from a local shop on Wednesday morning around 5:00am.” Kompol Doddy said.

The incident occurred when the owner of the local shop, I Made Nadiarta (aged 43) became suspicious when he heard something from his shop that is located next to his house. When Nadiarta came to his shop, he was surprised when he saw a stranger attempting to steal from there. “When the victim realized that his shop was broken into, he shouted for help to nearby villagers.” Kompol Doddy added.

The suspect was badly beaten by the angry mob until the police officers arrived at the location at around 6:30am and arrested the suspect. During the interrogation, the suspect admitted that he had done similar activities at four different places in Denpasar. “This man was previously jailed in 2015 and 2017 for similar cases. The suspect could possibly face seven years imprisonment to be held responsible for what he has done.” Kompol Doddy concluded.
